Agrestes y profundas, las playas del Faro Querandí nos permiten dar con grandes escualos, que antes de devolverlos, los marcan para obtener datos para los científicos que buscan protegerlos. Técnicas, equipos y zonas para pescar los gigantes.
Ya pescar tiburones dejó de ser exclusiva de reducidos grupos, y cada vez son más los aficionados que intentan la pesca de estos escualos, que hoy, en Provincia de Buenos Aires, se capturan exclusivamente con devolución. Cambiaron los tiempos, mejoraron técnicas, equipos y la amplia difusión que generó internet permite contar con la experiencia de eximios pescadores que comparten sus conocimientos y permiten encarar una empresa que antes era más complicada. Además, desde hace más de una década, científicos y pescadores se unieron en post de un solo objetivo, el difundir la pesca con devolución de tiburones y realizar un marcado en las aletas para que los biólogos obtengan información vital de una especie muy castigada, en un proyecto llamado, Conservar Tiburones en Argentina. Darío Esteban Vega, oriundo de 25 de Mayo, localidad del centro bonaerense, es uno de los tantos seguidores de la especie a lo largo de nuestro litoral marítimo. Arranca la temporada pescando por la zona de Faro Querandí, para luego seguir la migración por Mar Chiquita, Mar del Plata, San Blas y Viedma, para luego en abril, volver al Faro, donde termina la temporada. Lo convocamos para hablar de sus últimas escapadas, y gustoso, nos compartió sus vivencias.
La temporada se viene caracterizando por la presencia de buenos ejemplares desde el inicio de la misma, en las playas del Querandí, a las que accedemos de dos formas. Un ingreso es la famosa arenera Galatti, en el km 429, 5 de la Ruta 11, donde tras el abono de un canon accedemos a la costa. El segundo, de libre acceso, es a través de Mar Azul, donde se toma la calle 3 hasta la 47 y en el camping de Ingenieros, a la izquierda, está la bajada. Por allí bajaron Darío con la barra de amigos de 25 de Mayo, Coronel Vidal y Mar de Ajó, recorriendo unos 27 km en dirección norte. En el sector de pesca, desplegaron la artillería tiburonera, con algunas líneas fondeadas a nado en la primera canaleta, y otras, con kayaks, no mucho más lejos de la segunda. Lisas enteras y magrú fresco, solos o combinados fueron las carnadas que serían la tentación de los escualos. Para pescar de costa o fondear, son recomendables las varas de acciones 7 a 9, cañas de no menos de 80 a 100 lb, acompañadas de reels frontales o rotativos con una buena capacidad de carga de nylon 0.70 a 0.80 mm, aunque muchos se han volcado, como Dario, al hilo, con 0.28 mm para pescar a tiro de caña y de 100 libras para fondear. Al mismo se le añade un chicote de unos 10 m del 0.70 mm. Además, busca cañas largas, para evitar el pasto, que muchas veces molesta con varas más cortas. En cuanto a la elección de un reel u otro, muchos prefieren los rotativos, ya que el sistema de freno es superior y tiene una mejor tracción. En aquel citado campamento, salieron distintas variedades de tiburones, pero el destacado fue un gran bacota macho de alrededor de 3 metros que lo paseó por toda la playa, en una brutal pelea entre el tiburón intentando ganar la pelea, frente al pescador que ponía a prueba su mejor equipo, una caña Bahamas acción 8, un reel Penn 10/0. La lucha con este ejemplar fue mayor a lo previsto, más de 90 minutos y 2 kilómetros caminando hacía el sur hasta vencer a este digno oponente, que, tras la marcación, fue devuelto al agua, como corresponde.
En cuanto a los aparejos, el librito de cada pescador es amplio. Lo tradicional es una línea sencilla, de 1,20 m de longitud, sobre nylon 150 mm, del que cuelga una brazolada de nylon del mismo grosor, de 0,80 cm a 1,10 m. El largo de la misma depende del estado del mar, con mar movido se usa brazolada corta, mar planchado requiere bajada larga. Los anzuelos pueden ser 12/0 a 14/0 de la serie 3406, con una protección de cinta de unos 20 cm para evitar el corte, o bien, un líder de acero de 150 a 200 lb. Vega, en base a su experiencia, ha reemplazado el cable de acero, usando nylon únicamente de 200 mm en todos sus equipos, y prefiere los anzuelos circulares, los cuales tienen como característica principal su punta en un ángulo de al menos 90 grados con respecto a la pata. Este diseño tiene como fin producir que la clavada no sea en la garganta ni en las vísceras del pez. Por su forma, aun si la presa traga la carnada, el anzuelo se desplaza y se fija al costado de la boca, lo cual nos permite devolver nuestras capturas con una tasa de sobrevida altísima. El plomo es del tipo araña, que va de los 150 a 240 gramos, de acuerdo al estado del mar y buscando los escualos fondeados, necesitaremos del grampin, el plomo que usaremos y que actuará de fusible, el mismo no debe ser muy exagerado, ya que lo principal es el anclaje. Muchos lo hacen con uno o dos pernos de pistón y ganchos con varilla de construcción de 4,2 mm. Este fusible va de acuerdo a la correntada y al estado del mar, nunca debe ser inferior al 0,50 mm y en esos días de sudestada, o con condiciones amenazantes y pensamos tener el plomo adentro largas horas, se puede meter un 0,70 mm, siempre con un nudo en el medio que facilite el corte.
Una de las últimas salidas de Darío fue en familia, con Yael su esposa y sus hijos, Franco y Kevin, con quienes disfruta la pasión por la pesca deportiva y lo acompañan en un campamento en el que no falta nada. Tras la parada previa obligada por Dolores, retirando lisas en lo de “Topito”, su carnada predilecta, enfiló con ansiedad hasta bajar en la playa del Querandí. Desplegó los equipos y rápidamente empezó la fiesta. Arrancó con los dos primeros piques errados, pero el tercero fue el vencido y el premio fue un gran bacota que lo dejó exhausto, un buen rato, por la adrenalina que despiertan estos gigantes. Vega, acostumbrado a fondear sus aparejos a nado, entre los 100 y 300 metros y cuando puede, a tiro de caña, modalidad que más le apasiona, está vez no terminó la salida como quisiera. Una ola le jugó una mala pasada y una caída provocó que su hombro diera contra la arena, provocando una luxación de clavícula que lo dejó unas semanas fuera de la actividad.
Historias como las de Darío Esteban Vega se repiten en todo el frente costero. Los pescan, los disfrutan, los marcan y los devuelven. Disfrutan de la actividad y aportan para preservar una especie muy castigada, con éxito comprobado, ya que se han dado recapturas que permiten que los biólogos saquen conclusiones sobre su comportamiento y recorrido migratorio. Aplaudimos dichas acciones y bregamos por que cada vez sean más los que aporten a estas causas tan importantes.
Agenda de playa: Fernando de Punto Tiburón (Tel.: 2317-487844), una palabra calificada en la zona, ya que hace varias temporadas realiza salidas en búsqueda de la especie. Arman campamentos de uno o dos días en la playa, haciendo pesca costera y fondeando líneas con motos de agua, tanto en el Faro como Mar Chiquita.
