Los amigos de Info Pesca MDQ consignan en su web que «La recuperación de este tradicional espejo de agua marplatense ya es un hecho consumado y las capturas de pejerrey obtenidas en las últimas semanas son una clara muestra de ello. Si bien el pique no es parejo para todos los pescadores, la clave radica en realizar una búsqueda intensiva para encontrar el sector más rendidor. Tanto de embarcado como lanzando de costa, han aparecido ejemplares de un tamaño asombroso y que incluso han superado los 800 gramos. Los Padres vuelve a ser una gran opción para los marplatenses, sobre todo por su cercanía con la ciudad.»
El portal además, indica que en las últimas semanas volvieron a aparecer los pejes XL, de esos que a veces salían en la laguna pero que no eran moneda corriente. Pero a diferencia de otros tiempos, ahora la especie no está dispersa, sino que se mueve en un cardumen bien delimitado y además muestra mayor acción del mediodía en adelante, motivado seguramente por la suba en la temperatura del agua con la fuerza del sol. Es por eso que buscar y encontrar ese cardumen es vital: si no se consigue, el regreso con las manos vacías es un hecho.
El pejerrey se recostó sobre el sector costero conocido como las barrancas, justo debajo del Museo “José Hernández”, y realiza una especie de corredor donde pasa por los álamos y llega a la compuerta, a la altura del palo 500. Siempre, entre la margen y la pista de remo. Tanto de costa (los días de viento y agua movida rinde muy bien) como de embarcado, ése es el lugar de pesca. Es verdad que algunos botes encontraron algunos perdidos en el centro de la laguna e incluso en el chiquero, pero fueron los menos y en días puntuales.
La carnada que responde es la mojarra. Y en cuanto a las líneas, se impone la de dos boyas con brazoladas regulables (yo-yo o con trampa), para que los anzuelos queden a unos 5-10 centímetros del fondo. El chiripá lastrado también es una gran opción porque permite buscar la profundidad deseada, dado que se está pescando aproximadamente a 1,60 metros. Hay que tener mucha paciencia para poder capturarlos, dado que muchas veces toca suavemente, pero suelta.
Para alegría de los pescadores, los ejemplares no sólo son de porte, sino que también responde en cantidad y se muestra activo. Desde la orilla pica de fondo, aunque algunos ponen una boyita aceituna en el medio para que el aparejo levante. La Laguna de Los Padres, ubicada a sólo 14 kilómetros de la ciudad, volvió a imponerse en la agenda invernal del pescador deportivo y eso -después de todo lo que le tocó vivir- es un motivo para celebrar.
