Salada de Madariaga, pejerreyes todo el año

Un ámbito legendario que, en un año especial e inolvidable, sigue demostrando sus laureles. Grandes pejes que no dejaron de picar en todo el año, y ahora, con buena temperatura, siguen siendo la vedette de los pescadores.

Sea el momento del año que sea, esta laguna enclavada en los partidos de Madariaga y Lavalle siempre paga. La Salada Grande es un icono para los pescadores de la provincia de Buenos Aires y del país, y en un año especial como este 2020, donde muchos no pudimos visitarla, nos subimos a las embarcaciones de los amigos para sentirnos, imaginariamente, en ese laberinto de pesqueros disímiles, lleno de grandes pejerreyes y soñadas tarariras.

José Vargas es guía y amigo que opera en la laguna, y durante toda la Pandemia nos mantuvo informado de cómo estaba rindiendo la laguna, una constante fue escuchar buenas noticias y un pescado que, sin estar acardumado, como otras temporadas, picó muy bien y en excelentes portes.  Este fin de semana, quedamos en charlar al bajar de la embarcación y que nos cuente cómo se había comportado el ámbito.

El sábado salió temprano, junto a un grupo que llegó en búsqueda de esos pejerreyes soñados. La laguna se presentó planchada, sin vientos en superficies que agiten las aguas. Sabemos que el pejerrey es un gran consumidor de oxígeno y mejor se siente con laguna rizada, y más en este ámbito. La empresa parecía difícil, pero poco a poco, empezó a soplar el viento y el pique comenzó a aparecer. Gareteaban la laguna, en la zona centro y medio de la laguna, realizando un garete largo de la punta de lo de Melón Gil al Monte Cuadrado, y otro del callejón de Urrutia al pesquero Chiozza. Anclados, la respuesta no era favorable, por lo que, moviéndose, y con brazoladas que rondaban los 40 cm, lograron muy buenas extracciones, con piezas que promediaron los 40 cm.

José nos contaba que recorrieron otros puntos que suelen rendir, pero no obtuvieron resultados. Trató de meterse en los recovecos de La Plateada, pero se complicó la entrada por el bajo caudal, ya que, aunque las recientes lluvias le vinieron muy bien a la laguna, aún sigue falta de nivel. También se metió en los callejones, con agua cristalina donde el pique tampoco se dio. La clave fue garetear en los puntos citados, con la infalible mojarra mediana,  y allí concretaron la pesca. Con quienes quieren hacer un mix de pejes y tarus, la pesca de estas últimas se da en la zona de los callejones de Urrutia, pasando los segundos palos, un sector que da buenos ejemplares, aunque en el medio de la laguna, también se pincharon excelentes piezas.

Hace poco hablamos en este espacio de un impresionante ejemplar de 2,050 kilogramos obtenido por Pablo Caffaro, al garete en la zona de la Barranca de los Loros, de flote con una brazolada de 40 centímetros de profundidad y encarnando con una mojarra mediana. Fue solo uno de tantos pescadores que volvieron con el pescado de su vida de la laguna.

Muchas embarcaciones en la laguna, todas con dispares resultados. A la suerte debemos acompañarla haciendo bien los deberes, moviéndonos en búsqueda del pescado, y eso se nota a la salida en el embarcadero.
