Historias de “Las 24”: Empate en la Corvina Negra

Evocamos algunos gratos recuerdos de las míticas y legendarias 24 Horas de la Corvina Negra, camino a la 61ra edición el próximo 11 y 12 de febrero de 2022.

Hoy nos remontamos a la quinta edición del torneo, concurso que duplicaría exactamente la cantidad de participantes del concurso debut. 116 pescadores se dieron cita para ser parte de «Las 24 hs» el 5 y 6 de marzo de 1966. Cifras lejanas a las del presente como también las piezas que se capturaban. Allá por la tarde del domingo 6, llegaban los cañofilos con sus corvinas al pesaje, donde con balanzas de escasa precisión, acordes a la época, realizaban el procedimiento. Gran sorpresa para todos, cuando Otto Stéfano y Ever Chachero presentaban piezas que acusaban el mismo kilaje: 20 kilos exactos. Se intentaba de todas formas encontrar una diferencia, pero por más que se repita reiteradas veces, la historia no cambiaba. Hasta el panadero invitó a llevar las piezas a su nueva balanza donde pesaba la galleta para evitar el desempate. Finalmente, la del pescador de San Cayetano, Otto Stéfano pesó 50 gramos más y se quedó con la 5ta edición de las 24 Horas de la Corvina Negra y evitó que el tresarroyense Ever Chachero pudiera hacer el doblete, tras su victoria en el torneo inaugural de 1962. El podio lo completaba Mario Reynoso con una corvina de 19,250 kg. Los ocho primeros puestos fueron cubiertos con corvinas mayores a los 15 kilos de peso, la mayoría pescadas en la zona del letrero, uno de los puntos más rendidores a lo largo de la historia del mítico torneo que pronto tendrá su 61ra edición.
