En una calurosa jornada se realizó una nueva edición de unos de los más tradicionales concursos de la ciudad de Tandil, las 10 horas que organiza y fiscaliza la entidad madre de la pesca tandilense, el Club de Pesca.

El calor intenso no suele ir de la mano con la pesca del pejerrey, y eso quedó confirmado en este concurso que organizó la entidad de calle San Lorenzo y que contó con una treintena de aficionados que desafiaron las altas temperaturas e intentaron quedarse con la copa Challenger «Jorge Olazábal», en una nueva edición.

La cita fue en la playa de nuestro balneario, sobre las costas del Lago del Fuerte. Allí, la subcomisión del club se apostó muy temprano, y a las 7 de la mañana puntual dio comienzo el torneo. El calor se hacía notar, y lo que era una intuición para muchos, se confirmó rápidamente. Había que aprovechar los primeros piques de la mañana, ya que se dificultaría a medida de que crezca la temperatura. Y así fue como Agustín Alcibar empezó a tomar distancia del resto, con la primer captura a menos de un minuto de iniciado el torneo, con varios de los competidores logrando marcar en la primer hora del concurso. Al apretar el calor, todo se complicó y la pesca se tornó totalmente nula, al punto de que en las últimas tres horas, no hubo ninguna extracción.

Se registraron sólo 9 piezas, siendo la victoria y la custodia de la Copa Challenger por un año, para Agustín Alcibar, joven de gran proyección en la pesca tandilense que logró 3 pejerreyes. Recibió en manos de Facundo Menchon, último ganador del trofeo en 2019. Fue segunda, en su debut en la competencia, la dama Melina Leguizamón, quien siguió los consejos de Menchon al pie de la letra y aplicó lo aprendido en tantas tardes en nuestro lago, con dos pejerreyes, siendo segunda y, además, la ganadora en su categoría. Completó el podio Mariano Sosa, ya liderando el escalafón de pescadores con una captura, seguido de Fabian Cabrera, Francisco Lagos y Leandro Trevisiol. El premio especial a la pieza mayor, por sorteo, para otro joven que se las trae, Tomas Fulguez.
