Menchón volvió a poner las cosas en orden

Alejado de la competencia local desde hace un tiempo, en su vuelta ganó en “La Isla” y se quedó en forma definitiva con la Challenger del CNF.

Diciembre suele llegar con la vuelta del pejerrey a nuestro lago, tras el párate obligado que significa la veda de la especie que prohíbe la competencia deportiva. En este segundo domingo del mes, el Centro Náutico del Fuerte recibió a los pescadores con su clásica Copa Challenger, evento que se realiza en su reducto de la isla. Un buen número de cañófilos se apostó desde temprano, con una mesa de inscripción que funcionó desde las 7.30 hs y un concurso que lo hizo una hora después.

Tras la edición 2022 que quedó en manos de Aldo Spina, toda la expectativa se centraba en la chance de que pudiera obtenerla si ganaba este domingo, ya que obtendría la custodia definitiva aquel que la ganara dos años seguidos o tres alternados, situación que lo motivó a acercarse a orilla del lago a Facundo Menchon, ganador en dos oportunidades y el máximo pescador que dio la pesca tandilense en la última década.

Tras los cuatro cambios, Menchon fue inalcanzable para el resto y volvió a demostrar que el lago sigue siendo su casa. 12 piezas, tres más que Spina y cuatro que Guillermo Alperte. De esta manera, se adueñó de la Copa Challenger en forma definitiva, tras doce ediciones donde la ganaron experimentados pescadores y logró, por una temporada, la custodia de la Challenger Gustavo Nanti, homenaje a un querido amigo pescador que nos dejara físicamente hace algunos años. Tras ganar Provinciales fuera del distrito, y acaparar todo lo que estuvo en juego dentro de la ciudad, Menchon ha sido, a nuestro humilde parecer, el mejor de la última década caña en mano en ese segmento.

Con 30 pescadores presentes y dos cadetes, al no haber extracciones en esta ocasión se sorteo la custodia de la copa que quedó en manos de Anastasio Jerónimo.
