Se viene un domingo emotivo en las huestes del Centro Náutico del Fuerte, en el marco de la sexta fecha y última del campeonato que lleva el auspicio de Casa Atahualpa. Definición de un competitivo año, el condimento extra de la Copa Challenger Ramón García, merecido homenaje a uno de los grandes pescadores que tuvo la ciudad y que nos dejara físicamente hace poco tiempo; y la yapa de también estar en juego la Copa Viejos Amigos, en su quinta edición, aquel trofeo que se instituyera para homenajear a glorias de la pesca tandilense como Alberto Tripodi, Carlos Pereyra, Miguel Isern, Blas Santisteban y el propio García.
La mesa de inscripción se habilitará a las 7,30 hs del domingo 7, mientras que una hora después dará inicio la competencia. Vale destacar que la cancha es para 44 pescadores, sin excepción. La inscripción es de $500 para los no socios, $400 socios y $300 damas y cadetes. Para los ganadores del concurso, habrá ordenes de compra de $2000, $1500 y $1000. Además, se sorteará un reel, gentileza del auspiciante de la fecha, la Boutique del Pescador.
Cumplidas cinco de las seis fechas programadas, Mariano Sosa emerge como el gran candidato a quedarse por segundo año consecutivo con el titulo, con 121 puntos y 8 de ventaja sobre el ascendente Leandro Trevisiol, quien con una fecha menos está a sólo 8 puntos de Sosa. Haciendo historia de la Copa Viejos Amigos, la primera edición la ganó Carlos Cattaneo, en una mañana fría de 2016, cuando con 28 extracciones fue inalcanzable para el resto.
