Casi 200 pescadores dieron vida al epílogo del campeonato de pejerrey de la Federación de Pesca y Lanzamiento de la Provincia de Buenos Aires en la modalidad embarcados, en la pintoresca laguna de Balcarce, escenario donde algunos tandilenses cumplieron una destacada labor.
La bella y pintoresca laguna La Brava, enclavada al pie de las sierras balcarceñas fue el epicentro del cierre de la temporada de pejerrey para FEPYLBA, en un encuentro que contó con muy buena cantidad de pescadores de distintas instituciones afiliadas a la entidad madre de la actividad cañófila bonaerense, única que es parte de la Confederación Argentina de Pesca y Lanzamiento. Dentro de las delegaciones participantes, por nuestra ciudad lo hicieron la Peña Pescadores, el Club de Pesca, ambos animadores de todo el circuito, y Defensores de Belgrano como Náutico del Fuerte, ambos que sólo realizan la modalidad pejerrey.
La actividad piscatoria reunió a más de 40 equipos entre las categorías mayores, de seis pescadores, y los seniors, de cuatro equipistas por institución. Se realizaron dos pruebas de cuatro horas, una el sábado y otra el domingo, momentos en que los pescadores debían elegir un lugar y pescar en el mismo sitio durante la totalidad de la competencia.
Como es costumbre, con anticipación la fisonomía de la laguna cambió por la enorme cantidad de embarcaciones que se acercaron a probar el espejo buscando encontrar las líneas acordes, los sectores más rendidores y las carnadas que más atraían a los pejerreyes. Sabemos que La Brava es un espejo muy profundo, hoy con sectores que superan los 4 m de profundidad, con una cota que se ha elevado producto de las precipitaciones de semanas atrás. Esta situación, obliga a los cañófilos a trabajar mucho, siendo los aparejos chiripá, paternóster y de dos boyas, con brazoladas muy largas y trampa, los preferidos de los concursantes, aunque en esta ocasión el pique se centró en los 2 metros. Otra alternativa que muchos utilizan es pescar a fondo, en ocasiones con algún elemento de flotación que levante la línea un poco del fondo.
El sábado, el día se presentó muy diferente a lo que el pronóstico señalaba, tras ingresar con laguna planchada, el viento aumentó y la temperatura bajó considerablemente, los que hizo sentir el frío en los pescadores que bancaban las jornadas embarcados. El viento nacía desde el Club de Pesca Balcarce, entidad que ofició de organizador, y estuvo en todos los detalles del evento con Miguel Cassibba, Presidente de la institución, como líder de un trabajo excelente. La pesca estuvo muy similar a los días previos, más con la helada que cayó en la mañana. Sobresaliente la labor del loberense Juan Cagni, ganador de individual en mayores. Entre los tandilenses, con el 15º puesto, Guillermo Vaquero del Club de Pesca Tandil B, que fue el serrano mejor clasificado, mientras que por equipos, sorprendió el Club de Pesca Pinamar y el Club de Pesca Tandil A fue el destacado tandilense en el décimo lugar. Por seniors, triunfo individual para el siempre vigente Norberto Morán, una de las emblemáticas cañas de FEPYLBA, que se llevó también, por equipos, la victoria con su Club de Pescadores de Junín. De Tandil, gran labor de Náutico del Fuerte, quedando tercero por equipos por las labores de Carlos Cattaneo (4º) y Enrique Martinez (9º).
En la jornada siguiente el viento fue escaso en los primeros tramos, luego aumentó para terminar muy fuerte, naciendo desde la sierra. No afectó la pesca, que aún así, dio botes muy parejos y otros no tanto. Ganó Gustavo Oldano, el marplatense del Club de Pesca Santa Teresita, mientras que otro conjunto de La Feliz se quedó con el triunfo por equipos: Atlántico A, con una soberbia labor de Daniel Garofalo y Mario Arriaga en mayores. Entre los serranos, Gonzalo Mendoza fue el mejor, en el puesto 17º, entre 140 cañofilos, y su peña, Pescadores de Tandil, el mejor equipo de la ciudad en el 9º lugar, entre 25 entidades. En seniors, Oscar Jaureguibehere de Tres Arroyos dio la nota ganando el torneo mientras que, por clubes, ganó el Club de Pesca Balcarce. Entre 15 instituciones en esta categoría, el CNF quedó 11º, y su mejor caña, Enrique Martinez clasificó 19º.
Tras un tiempo prudencial para los cómputos, el comunicador balcarceño Diego Mancino tomó las riendas de la conducción de la entrega de premios. Acompañó el Presidente de FEPYLBA, Diego Velischek, y el grupo de colaboradores que hacen posible cada concurso. Allí se premió a los destacados de este periplo 2023 de pejerrey, que tras cuatro fechas tuvo como campeones anuales de la especialidad a Balcarce A en mayores. Los tandilenses, lejos de aquellas heroicas labores de los últimos campeonatos, donde la Peña Pescadores logró el título en 2019 y el tercer lugar en 2022, y al subcampeonato 2019 del Club de Pesca Tandil, en esta ocasión, el mejor grupo volvió a ser por tercer año consecutivo, de la Peña Pescadores, en el undécimo puesto, uno por delante del Club de Pesca. Defensores de Belgrano, en tanto, fue decimoséptimo y el Club de Pesca B, ocupó el puesto 21.
Por individuales, el gran premiado fue el balcarceño Daniel Maitia, mientras que en una labor resonante, el tandilense Fabián Cabrera ocupó el cuarto lugar en la general, entre casi 200 cañofilos de la provincia. En seniors, Horacio González de Balcarce fue campeón, mientras que Lobería B se llevó la copa por equipos. Gran trabajo de Carlos Cattaneo, subcampeón por escasa diferencia, en una tremenda lucha entre ambos y misma posición para el CNF, que con el equipo integrado por Cattaneo, Enrique Martinez, Domingo Prestia y José Durand, logró el 2 entre todos los clubes participantes en su categoría.
La actividad de FEPYLBA proseguirá con una fecha de la modalidad Variada de Mar, promediando el mes de diciembre y que marcará el cierre de los campeonatos anuales de la entidad.
