Emotiva jornada se vivió este domingo en la isla del lago, clásico reducto del Centro Náutico del Fuerte, con la segunda fecha del calendario y la copa homenaje a Blas Santisteban.
Una mañana que arrancó fresca pero apacible, se transformo en un mediodía muy ventoso, que hizo trabajar a los pescadores que se dieron cita en la isla del Centro Náutico del Fuerte para participar de la segunda fecha del calendario anual que lleva el auspicio de Casa Atahualpa y que en esta ocasión, contó con el aporte de la casa comercial El Matungo.
Con la copa challenger Blas Santisteban en juego, en su primera edición, un buen número de cañofilos se fueron acercando desde temprano para participar, al punto de cubrirse la totalidad de la cancha a casi media hora del inicio de torneo. Desde la subcomisión de pesca nos informaban que fueron 12 los pescadores que no pudieron participar por haber llegado al cupo de 44 lugares que, como es clásico, abarca la cancha de pesca.
Al iniciar el concurso, fue difícil ver las boyas y había que extremar las habilidades para acertar las encañadas. Arrancó bien el último ganador, el hábil Aldo Spina, pero una buena seguidilla del experimentado Enrique Martínez lo coronó como ganador del torneo. 9 piezas en un cambio marcaron una brecha con el resto, quedándose con la victoria con 14 ejemplares. Spina fue segundo a dos piezas del ganador y mantiene la punta del campeonato, mientras que el ascendente Valentín Furlán quedó tercero.
La emoción llegó pasado el mediodía, cuando la familia de Blas procedió a la entrega de la copa que, por un año, está en manos de Martínez. Presencia de su esposa, hijos y nietos de un pescador que dejó una huella en la pesca tandilense, muy querido en el ambiente cañofilo y a quien se extraña en cada concurso de la ciudad, ya que sin distinción de camisetas ni clubes, siempre apoyo y participó.

Luego de la entrega de los premios por la labor en el concurso, el cadete Ramiro Caballero fue el ganador del primer sorteo, obteniendo la caja de pesca, gentileza de Casa El Matungo, premio que entregó Oscar Bucci, por parte de la casa comercial tandilense. Luego, Santiago Fernández fue el ganador del segundo sorteo, la caña de pesca perteneciente al recordado amigo y pescador Blas Santisteban. Destacamos la labor en la fiscalización de Sergio Oberman, a cargo de la mesa de control Nayla Echeverria y la colaboración de José Durand y Rómulo Hernández a la subcomisión que lidera el popular «Quique» Martínez.
