Todo concluye al fin. Todo tiene un final, todo termina. El tandilense le dio finitud a su carrera deportiva y anunció que el próximo Nacional será el último que realizará. Broche a una carrera éxitosa.

Cuando me avisó que se retiraba no me sorprendió ni me dio pesar. La realidad es que me alegró. Competir ocho años al nivel que lo hizo, significaba mucho sacrificio, trabajar y entrenar era una combinación cansadora. Los chicos se le hacían grandes y se perdía momentos irrecuperables. La generación de hoy era otra a la de sus comienzos, y el tema económico, siempre un problema. Por eso cuando me llegó la noticia, casi como una confidencia, la tome natural. No tanto fue su pedido, algo que me sorprendió. «Taru, la noticia la tenes que dar vos, ármala y comunícala, vos siempre me acompañaste». Eso si me sorprendió y bien, ya que siempre lo hicimos con mucho afecto, con el fin de comunicar, pero de acompañar y mimar a la distancia, sabiendo que cuando estaba en Portugal, Túnez, Italia o Francia, por decir algún lugar, los afectos le faltaban, y uno, con un texto o una foto, sentía que le podía dar un aliento especial. Como aquella vez que le incrustamos los carteles de entradas de Gardey en una foto con las montañas europeas atrás, una de las tantas que se nos ocurrió como para acompañar a la distancia. Nos pusimos contentos cuando algún diario local le daba espacio en la tapa a sus campeonatos, algo inédito, reservado para el futbol o el automovilismo, pero que el lograba con el ignoto, para algunos, longcasting. Planeta Pesca en cada Mundial tenia movimientos en cinco días que eran los que se podían dar casi en un año, una locura por seguir la labor de Salvador y sus compañeros. Nos permitió crecer como medio, hacernos más conocido con ingleses, italianos o uruguayos compartiendo nuestros artículos. Algunos le pedían un plomo, otros una gorra, uno nunca pidió nada, por eso, ese reconocimiento para permitirnos anunciar algo tan especial, era el premio más lindo. Armamos la nota y quedó esto en Weekend. Una vez publicada, tal como prometí, le pase el link a Salvador, para ver si le gustaba. «Me hiciste llorar bastante», me dijo el grandote. Objetivo cumplido, nos adentramos en el sentimiento y le tocamos el corazón recorriendo su carrera deportiva. Gracias Salvador por los cinco campeonatos del mundo, por las seis veces seguidas que ganaste la zona centro, por los nacionales y los sudamericanos, por el abierto de los ingleses, por tantas épicas batallas ganadas. Que se vengan muchas pescas, con familia, amigos y, seguramente, compartamos alguna. Aunque ya no en el campo, los plomos seguirán volando alto y cayendo donde ningún ser humano los pone.
