Argentina, por sexta vez, campeón del mundo

El combinado nacional de longcasting se quedó con el título por selecciones, mientras que, en forma individual, el marplatense Juan Hamber se convirtió en el tercer argentino en ser el mejor del mundo. El tandilense Salvador Bustos, se retiró definitivamente de la actividad.

El título mundial de Longcasting se fue para Mar del Plata: el crédito local Juan “Ato” Hamber se convirtió en el mejor tirador del mundo, luego de quedar primero en el clasificador individual por sumatoria de plomos en el Campeonato Mundial de Longcasting, que finalizó este jueves en la ciudad de Viterbo, en Italia. En la prueba de los 100 gramos, se ubicó cuarto con una marca de 249.50 metros y le alcanzó para subirse al puesto principal del escalafón.

La victoria en el plomo más liviano quedó en manos del uruguayo Rafael Sanzó, también ganador de los 175 gramos, quien se alejó con su tiro, 257,93 metros de la pedana. Segundo fue el francés Sebastien Fabregue y tercero se ubicó el italiano Filippo Montepagano, quien luchó hasta último momento, pero finalmente quedó como subcampeón en individuales. Fue una verdadera batalla donde durante toda la mañana fueron alterándose las posiciones y la incógnita de la definición se extendió hasta último momento. Tanto el marplatense como el crédito italiano eran los grandes candidatos, tras un miércoles donde Hamber logró el título en 125 gramos, con un lance de “otro torneo” y sobrepasó los 265 metros, casi 6 metros más que su inmediato perseguidor. Tras dos segundos puestos, fue la inyección anímica que necesitaba para llegar al último día con una leve diferencia a su favor. Ubicarse delante de Montepagano era el resultado que necesitaba para asegurarse el triunfo general. Y así fue.

En esa jornada de jueves, hubo espacio para la emoción en el último lanzamiento del tandilense Salvador Bustos, quien tras lograr cinco campeonatos mundiales eligió este evento para despedirse. En su reingreso a la actividad, sólo por esta competencia, el serrano estuvo en la pelea, y tras meterse en el top 5 en los tres primeros días de actividad, cerró este jueves en el 9° lugar, con 240,07 m.

En la general individual, por ínfima diferencia, Hamber superó a Montepagano, relegando al tercer lugar al uruguayo Sanzo, al brasileño Neves y a Bustos, quien quedó quinto, delante de Quiroga, el miramarense que tuvo otro gran mundial. Por selecciones, merced al gran desempeño realizado en las cuatro jornadas, el Equipo A de Argentina retuvo el título y volvió a ser al amplio dominador del certamen. Hamber, Joaquín Quiroga, Bustos y Juan Lang fueron los abanderados del triunfo colectivo y la sexta estrella para el país, igualando a Inglaterra y quedando a sólo 2 del máximo ganador, Italia, una cifra que sueñan los argentinos con descontar en el próximo evento mundialista, en 2025, con la llegada a nuestro país de la elite del longcasting, en una competencia que tendrá lugar en la provincia de Misiones, lo que será el 27° Campeonato del Mundo de la especialidad.
