Sigue haciendo historia el conjunto argentino de longcasting, ganador absoluto en el mundial que se disputó en el continente africano. Las claves de un equipo que no tiene techo.
Durante toda la semana se realizó en Túnez, la 25° edición del Campeonato del Mundo de Longcasting, un nuevo evento organizado por la Federación Internacional de Pesca Deportiva y que contó con una impecable labor de la Federación de Túnez, a cargo por primera vez, de una cita mundialista. Desde el lunes hasta el jueves se extendió la actividad deportiva en la localidad de Hammamet, mientras que el viernes, se produjo la gala de premiación. Como es habitual en la última década, nuestro país fue parte del mundial y se llevó todo lo que estaba en juego.
El equipo nacional estuvo conformado por tiradores bonaerenses, todos animadores de la competitiva zona centro. Salvador Bustos, ganador de los mundiales 2017, 2018, 2019 y 2021, el referente en este conjunto, acompañado de Juan Hamber, Facundo Sosa y Joaquín Quiroga. Además, como individual se presentó Nazareno Seren, que iba a ser parte del equipo B nacional, pero, cuestiones económicas generaron la baja de tres casters y no quedó otra alternativa que tirar de esta forma. Eran parte de este mundial, además de Argentina, equipos de España, Italia, Chile, Brasil, Bélgica, Francia y los locales, Túnez.
La competencia individual fue un apabullante paseo del tandilense Salvador Bustos, lo que generó que se concrete su ansiado quíntuple campeonato mundial. Tanto lunes como martes, en las pruebas de plomos pesados, 175 y 150 gramos, Bustos pulverizó a todos, superando al segundo por más de diez metros ambos días. Una cifra que adquiere mayor dimensión cuando advertimos, que, en esas jornadas, la diferencia del segundo al décimo, orillaba en esas distancias. En la tercera prueba, lanzando 125 gramos, en gran parte del torneo la lucha se centró entre el marplatense Juan Hamber y el brasileño Jorge Neves, pero en las dos últimas pasadas por la pedana de tiro apareció “el Messi de la caña y el plomo”, para adueñarse de otra jornada. En el cierre, el jueves, otra vez desde temprano marcó la cancha Bustos y se terminó llevando la victoria y el titulo absoluto, quedándose con los cuatro plomos en juego, al igual que en 2017.
Por equipos, en tanto, otra vez, el festejo fue albiceleste, como en Paraguay en 2022, al igual que en Italia, en 2021 y 2018. Como en Portugal en 2016 y tal como fue en cada una de las jornadas de este mundial que contó con un equipo nacional en el más alto nivel. Argentina sumó su quinta estrella en el longcasting, con un equipo que batalló desde lo económico para ser parte de este desafío, y que en el campo de tiro demostró porque es considerada, en el último tiempo, potencia de este deporte. Ganó los cuatro plomos por equipos, con un Salvador Bustos que volvió a demostrar su temple y su sed de revancha, para quedar, al igual que Argentina, como quíntuples campeones mundiales.
Un equipo con sed de gloria
Dicen que lo difícil no es llegar, sino que lo duro es mantenerse. Y vaya si lo sabe este tandilense que en noviembre cumplirá 40 años y se destaca como aquella vez que irrumpió en la actividad con poco más de treinta. Criado entre caballos, vacas y con tanto campo por las venas como pasión por la pesca deportiva, este paisano que nunca se olvida de donde salió y de donde es, arrancó en el longcasting a pocos días de cumplir los 30. Ahí, en su tierra, en Gardey, una pequeña localidad del partido de Tandil. Fue en una clínica de Luis Solimeno, por entonces, el único argentino que había podido ganar un torneo a nivel mundial, en 2008. Desde ese momento, una meteórica carrera en ascenso que lo hizo llegar, en 2015, a su primer mundial, y en 2016, a empezar a lograr los resultados que siempre busco. Secundo al balcarceño Marcelo Wagner en un inolvidable 1-2 en Portugal, en la primera estrella para Argentina, y tras ello, emergió como el gran referente del longcasting en el país, quedándose en forma individual con los campeonatos 2017, 2018,2019 y 2021, y permitiendo sumar tres títulos más para una selección que pasaba a ser potencia en un deporte al que se incorporó mucho después de aquel inicio en Estados Unidos, en 1998, cita de aquel primer mundial. Con cimientos bien fuertes generados por una familia que lo acompaña, con las manos engrasadas por intentar llevar a su casa, cada día, el pan a la mesa, y transmitiendo el culto del trabajo y del sacrificio a sus hijos, este deportistas logró en Túnez, su vigésima victoria en mundiales, su quinto campeonato mundial y, además, agranda una figura que cada día es mayor en un deporte que cumple un cuarto de siglo con competencias y que promete seguir creciendo.
Otra parte fundamental de esta legión de argentinos que ganaron en Túnez es el marplatense Juan Hamber, “Ato” para los amigos. Casi sin presentación previa asomó en la zona centro del longcasting y se robó las miradas de todos. En tiempos donde ganarle a Bustos era una utopía, el lo logró, y elevó la vara de la actividad. No le tembló el pulso en su primera cita mundialista, donde ganó uno de los plomos y saboreó lo que es ser campeón mundial ni tampoco cuando logró ser subcampeón del mundo, en aquella Italia 2021. Tras un paso que hubiera querido sea mejor por Paraguay, en Túnez volvió a mostrar su alto nivel y se convirtió en el segundo mejor lanzador del mundo. Este éxito se dimensiona aún más al saber que Hamber, en su tierra, en Mar del Plata, no tiene un lugar para entrenar porque el campo que utilizaba en El Marquesado está “tomado” por organizaciones sociales. De Nicanor Otamendi es Joaquín Quiroga, otro de los integrantes de este equipo que hace historia. Con menos de 30 años, tiene en el lomo la satisfacción de ser dos veces campeón del mundo, para alegría de la familia, para orgullo de Fito y Claudia. Y siguiendo por la zona, de Miramar es el sello de Facundo Sosa, uno de la vieja escuela que viene batallando hace tiempo para que Argentina sea lo que es hoy, junto a históricos como Wagner, Solimeno, Mario Montania y tantos otros que subieron la vara en el país. Como sus compañeros, Sosa se destaca en lo deportivo y en lo humano, con un equipo que deja bien representado el país en cada Mundial. La legión argentina en Túnez se completó con Nazareno Seren, quien en forma individual cumplió y hasta se codeó con los mejores en 150 gramos, llegando a estar quinto, con el detalle de tener una lesión, un desgarro. El de Napaleofú, se bancó todo y le puso toda la pasión.
«No se le puede poner límite a algo, cuanto más sueñes más lejos llegarás». Palabras de un múltiple campeón olímpico de natación, Michael Phelps y que puede resumir aquel techo que parece nunca tocan los argentinos, envueltos en sueños y en ilusiones, y con la utopía de pensar que alguna vez van a tener el apoyo económico que merecen por sus logros, como dignos representantes de un país en un deporte en constante crecimiento.
Ahora el desafío se centra en Italia, escenario del próximo mundial y la expectativa por el 2025 donde Argentina será anfitrión, por primera vez, de un evento de este tipo, en Posadas, en la provincia de Misiones.
