Nuevo récord y titulo para Salvador Bustos

A 11.395 km de Tandil, un tandilense sigue haciendo historia en el inicio de un nuevo campeonato mundial de longcasting. Título individual, por selecciones y récord en el primer plomo disputado.

La espera terminó para los argentinos que buscaban revalidar sus relevantes actuaciones de los últimos años, y tras un 2020 sin competencia mundialista, este lunes volvieron a la cancha en el marco del 23° Campeonato del Mundo en el Italia, en el Campo Federal Mario Filidei en Coltano, provincia de Pisa. Allí, los casters más fuertes de esta disciplina compiten por el título mundial individual y por equipos, participando en este año representantes de Argentina, Bélgica, Francia, Paraguay, Sudáfrica, Túnez, Uruguay e Italia. Por Argentina, el equipo está conformado por Salvador Bustos, Juan Pablo Peralta, Ezequiel Morales y Juan Hamber, acompañados por Luciano Stati y Claudio Crisci.

El inicio de la competencia fue este lunes 23 de agosto con el lanzamiento del plomo de 175 gramos, donde el tandilense con raíces en Gardey, actual tricampeón mundial de la especialidad, Salvador Bustos, se quedó con el título nuevamente, con récord mundial incluido. Tras poder poner el plomo en dos tiros en más de 260 metros de la pedana de lanzamiento, en el último de los seis lanzamientos que realiza cada competidor logró quebrar su marca máxima, y con 267,45 metros batió nuevo récord y se quedó con el campeonato en 175 gramos. Gran labor de otro argentino, con medalla plateada, el debutante en este alto nivel, el marplatense Juan Gabriel Hamber y tercer lugar del podio para el uruguayo Rafael Sanzó. Por equipos, gran trabajo del equipo argentino que se quedó con el título, superando a Italia, de rendimiento muy parejo pero inalcanzable para la albiceleste. Para Bustos, el cuarto título consecutivo en 175 gramos, el decimosegundo en su carrera deportiva.

La actividad tendrá continuidad del martes al jueves, con los tres plomos restantes. En 150 gramos, este martes, el primer lanzamiento de cada serie, de acuerdo a los sorteos previos, será para Bustos, seguido de Montepagano, actual dueño del récord del mundo en dicho plomo y ganador en 2019, tras desplazar al tandilense ganador en 2017 y 2018.
