El pasado fin de semana, el muelle del Club Universitario de Punta Lara fue escenario de la primer convocatoria del año de la Federación de Pesca y Lanzamiento de la provincia de Buenos Aires; con su clásica apertura en la modalidad «Variada de Río» con caña de una mano para entidades afiliadas a la misma, donde participó un centenar de pescadores distribuidos en más de una docena de clubes bonaerenses, participando en categorías mayores, seniors, damas y cadetes.
Nuestra ciudad de Tandil estuvo representada por dos delegaciones, la Peña Pescadores de Tandil con un equipo de 5 cañofilos, y el Club de Pesca Tandil, con un conjunto de seis, y otro de tres deportistas. Para la institución de calle San Lorenzo, era el regreso a la actividad fuera del cordón serrano, tras el año pasado ser parte del Tandil Pesca Club, donde se lograron resonantes éxitos provinciales. La Peña, en tanto, recientemente adherida a FEPYLBA, tenía su debut con un equipo compuesto por pescadores con, al menos, dos años de experiencia en estas competencias.
El sábado, en una jornada ventosa y un río muy alto, se realizaron dos eventos, a la mañana, el 1er Campeonato correspondió para Aníbal Sánchez, hábil pescador joven que representa a Pescadores de Lobería y actual campeón provincial. Logró 87 extracciones e hizo una importante diferencia al resto. Fué segundo Gabriel Terrien de La Terraza de Berisso, y excelente labor de Facundo Menchón, integrante de Peña Pescadores de Tandil, que se ubicó tercero, subiendo al podio y logrando medalla. Gran labor de la Peña, con todos sus equipistas entre los 16 mejores. Ezequiel Velez finalizó 14to, y fué el mejor exponente del Club de Pesca que finalizó en el quinto lugar por clubes. En tanto, la Peña Pescadores de Tandil subió al podio, consiguiendo sus primeras medallas por equipos, detrás de Berisso y Lobería. Por la tarde, con una pesca extraordinaria, otra gran labor de la Peña, con cuatro de sus pescadores entre los 10. 5to Eduardo Chermelo, 6to Facundo Menchon, 8vo Adrian Quinteros y 9no Jorge Virgilio. Gran labor para un debutante en esta pesca, Jerónimo Sturla, 10mo y mejor caña del Club de Pesca Tandil. Segundo puesto por equipos para Pescadores de Tandil, y cuarto para el Club de Pesca.
El domingo, y con la experiencia acumulada la jornada previa, el desafió se renovó en el último y decisivo torneo, donde nuevamente Tandil iba a dar que hablar. El Río de la Plata amaneció en bajante, con poca agua que dificulta la pesca y tornó más errática la actividad. Cuatro tandilenses en el Top Ten, con el 5to puesto de Adrían Quinteros, 7mo de Gonzalo Mendoza, 9no Mariano Sosa y 10mo Pablo Lagos; mientras que por equipos, tercer podio al hilo para Peña Pescadores de Tandil con el segundo lugar, completando un fin de semana de excelentes resultados logrados en base a un trabajo grupal, serio y constante; lograron llevarse 13 medallas a la ciudad de Tandil. Gran aporte para la peña la labor del capitán, Leonardo Pugliese, atento a cada detalle que sumó para el logro.
La continuidad deportiva a nivel provincial será el 6 y 7 de abril, en escollera de Quequén, donde será la cuarta y quinta propuesta de FEPYLBA de esta temporada; donde se comenzará a sumar puntos de cara a los Campeonatos Nacionales a desarrollarse en 2020 en Buenos Aires y donde se intentará volver a meter tandilenses entre los mejores, al igual que en 2018, cuando clasificaron Guillermo Alperte y Facundo Menchón, quién se coronara campeón nacional en la modalidad balancín.
