Las últimas horas de este viernes 22 nos trajo la triste noticia de que se nos fue un amigo, se nos fue un cacho de historia grande de la pesca de Tandil. Dejó de luchar un guerrero, una gran persona como Blas Santisteban.
Cuestan las palabras cuando se trata de despedir a una gran persona, a un ser muy querido en la pesca tandilense como él. Cuesta, pero trataremos de evocar en estas humildes líneas a un grande que nos dejara físicamente el pasado viernes en la noche, el inolvidable Blas Santisteban.
Se fue un cacho grande de la historia de la actividad cañofila serrana, un emblema de la actividad, estandarte del club Defensores de Belgrano y del Club de Pesca Tandil entre otros. Una persona que independientemente de las camisetas, apostaba por la pesca deportiva. Era de esas personas con las que se disfrutaba charlar, escuchar sus historias llenas de escamas y recuerdos imborrables. En la institución de calle San Lorenzo dejó una huella, así como también al llegar a la de Pinto 47, con el famoso grupo al que se denominó, “los carapintadas”, junto a José Charlone, Alfredo Mouhape y Ramón Torrecillas entre otros. Ellos con sus técnicas y equipos le dieron un nuevo aire a la actividad competitiva del club, trascendieron las fronteras del pueblo. Blas y su estanciera recorrieron infinidad de pesqueros como competencias, cosechando amigos en cada una de ellas. Creo que cada torneo tuvo un cachito de “Blas”.. desde las míticas, históricas y legendarias 24 horas de la corvina negra que lo tuvieron como un fiel participante, que, aunque no las ganó, fue quizás el tandilense con mayor cantidad de apariciones en clasificación. Imaginen lo que era esa fiesta para él, que hace muy pocos años, se subió sólo a su Gran Vitara y agarró la ruta para no perderselas, total, allá encontraría decenas de amigos con los que
compartir “Las 24”. El famoso “Gran Prix del Sudeste”, hoy también conocido como “Interclubes”, lo tuvo como participante y ganador, como aquel domingo de octubre del 2000 cuando junto a Torrecillas viajaron a San Cayetano y Blas, con un tiburón bacota de 9.500 kg se quedó con el triunfo. El agua salada era lo suyo, pero adoptó un torneo a la carpa como uno de sus preferidos en los últimos años, el de Tapalqué. Junto a Alberto Tripodi probó por primera vez con la especie, y se volvió con un podio. Las canas no estaban pintadas para Blas, eran producto de una trayectoria pesquera que hacían que, con pocos consejos, enseguida sacara el pez que sea. Junto a otros pescadores logró el Paseo de los Pescadores en el viejo predio del Club de Pesca en el lago. Colaboró con las escuelitas de pesca, sean del club que sea, se emocionó con el semillero hasta los últimos días, acompañando al Centro Náutico del Fuerte en su resiembra de alevinos de pejerrey de octubre, en el cierre de la escuela de este año, donde tomó la palabra y se llevó el aplauso de todos. Sin ser reiterativo, las banderas para él no existían, éramos todo lo mismo: pescadores. Cuando creamos el Tandil Pesca Club, fue uno de los primeros socios y no se perdió ni cenas ni concursos. Llevó la voz por la recuperación del Club de Pesca cuando muchos callaron. Y renegó cuando aparecieron las peñas para los provinciales. No guardaba silencio si pensaba que aportaría algo, el “Che Negro..” quedó patentado para muchos que, aunque pasen los años, esperaran escucharlo de nuevo. Como el «Aleluya» y los mates del sábado a la mañana en la Carnicería de “Carlitos” ó en “Las Praderas”. O leerlo en el Whats App de Planeta Pesca, ya que ni las nuevas tecnologías lo frenaban a Blas.
Los últimos años fue luchando contra algunas dolencias, y como guerrero que es, las fue superando. No le aflojó y siguió soñando. Soñando con otro orden en las instituciones serranas, con una Asociación de Pesca, que regulará a los clubes, con que cada vez haya menos divisiones entre los pescadores, pero por sobre todo soñando con poder seguir disfrutando de los amigos, la familia y la pesca. Compartimos un viaje hace pocas semanas, con motivo de la Fiesta del Pescador Deportivo en Azul. Se lo notaba feliz por poder compartir momentos con pescadores de la región, tan feliz como este pescador que compartió esa escapada y lleno sus oídos de historias y consejos. A los 85 años seguía proyectando desafíos, quería armar una cañita y hacer la famosa pesca de una mano que hacíamos por estos días en los provinciales de pesca. Regresamos contentos, con un premio al pescador más veterano de la noche, una caña que reformaría para tal fin. No pudo ser.
Con Blas se nos fue un amigo, un consejero, un ser extraordinario que daba gusto escuchar. Nos quedan los gratos momentos vividos, caña en mano, o en esas rondas de mate donde nos iluminó con su sabiduría y honró con su amistad. Seguro allá te estaban esperando para una salida a pescar estrellas, el Gallego, Alberto, Alfredo y tantos otros amigos que tanto te quieren como los otros que quedamos acá…! Gracias por tanto Blas..!!! Te vamos a extrañar.
