Epilogo para el campeonato de costa que tiene como gran candidato al experimentado Carlos Cattaneo, quien va en búsqueda de un nuevo titulo en lo que parece ser su casa, la isla del Centro Náutico del Fuerte.
Todo listo para la última cita del año en la Isla del Lago, sexta contienda deportiva que tendrá varios condimentos especiales que se suman a la definición del campeonato. Por un lado, está en juego una nueva edición de la Copa Viejos Amigos, aquel trofeo instaurado hace unos cuantos años y que homenajea a los recordados Alberto Tripodi, Blas Santisteban, Ramón García y Carlos Pereyra, junto al querido Miguel Isern, una gloria de la pesca serrana que sigue acompañándonos y tuvo su merecido trofeo en fechas anteriores. Además, la segunda edición de la Copa Ramón García y la definición del trofeo que lleva el nombre de Carlos Cattaneo y que es donado por la agrupación Cardumen de Plagas.
Haciendo historia de la Copa Viejos Amigos, la primera edición la ganó Carlos Cattaneo, en una mañana fría de 2016, cuando con 28 extracciones fue inalcanzable para el resto. Tanto 2017 como 2018, el ganador fue «Quique» Martínez, mientras que en la última temporada que se realizó antes de la Pandemia, en 2019, la copa volvió a quedar en manos de Cattaneo. El año pasado, por tercera vez, el ganador fue Martínez, con once extracciones.
Es líder Carlos Cattaneo del campeonato con 153 puntos, seguido por Enrique Martínez con 118, único con remotas chances de quitarle el cetro, y más atrás vienen Mariano Sosa con 108, último bicampeón de la entidad, Leandro Trevisiol 107 y José Durand con 100.
La actividad dará comienzo 8.30 hs, una hora antes funcionará la mesa de inscripción. Recordar que la cancha solo tiene lugar para 44 pescadores, cupo limitado. La inscripción es $ 1.000 para no socios, $ 800 socios y $ 500 cadetes como damas.
